Today begins the construction of the hull. I plan to do differently from other models. I noticed that using PVA glue had some small problems of form. So I wanted to try to build the hull using CA glue. Only by using this type of glue I go very slowly and I have no way to afford mistakes.

Marco the hull looks great. How was it using ca glue? Any problems with bleeding into the hull colors? Did you use the thickened gell or quick dry? Details Man!!!! Just kidding, any pioneering techniques are well received!

Hello Joe, I am happy that my hits have been of help.

Ted, Hello, excuse if I have not explained the technique that I have used in order to make this hull but I must admit that I have several problems of language. Now i try to explain the new technical that I have tried in more or less acceptable way. In order glue the structures that compose the skeleton of the hull I have employed glue CA. This has allowed to the hull of having a structure much rigid one without having those problems of deformation that are using glue PVA. Moreover with this glue problems of blending are not had with the colors.The only problem is that much time is not had in order to put the several pieces in the just position and margins of error are not had. My considerations on this attempt I must say that they are positive even if I must admit that I have sweaty cold several times.

The white and red stripes were used by the Regia Marina after the battle of Punta Stilo (9 july 1940). During this battle, some Italian bombers bombed our ships thinking that they were English's one. Unable to comunicate with them (they used different frequency, or at least this was the explanation) the Italian navy opened the fire to them, confirming to the bombers that they were enemy ships (at the time no air torpedo squadrons were operative in the Regia aeronautica). After this little italian battle (luckily without any arm for both the sides), sometimes dubbed as the "la battaglia italo-italietta" by our historian, the Regia Marina decide to adopt the white and red stripes for air recognition until the surrender of Italy (8 september 1943). Just a little curiosity, the Italian fleet on the Aegean sea misinterpreted the central instructions, and the red and white stripese were applied with inverted colours for a couple of months.
