After a few years on my desk in front of me daily, I've taken stock again in the status of this ship model. Although hidden by dust ect, it still looks about the same as it did when stopped working on her. I'm rethinking how to resume work and it looks like I stalled on the deadeyes and chainplates, not much surprise. Making the large number of deadeyes needed has always been a problem with clipper ship models, since they are small in this scale, all the more. I'm thinking of trying to make them out of card, the problem has been drilling the 3 holes without delaminating ....
The really cool thing is finding an old print of an early drawing that shows the stern, I didn't have this before

What a pleasure to see that you are getting back to work on this splendid project. The drawing is certainly an inspiration.

Thanks guys, I've been hoping to get to work on this, right now am restoring the deck and cleaning up some things may need a bit of paint here and there then will get the deck furniture back on and can attach the canon, most of the parts appear accounted for and seen to be in OK shape too.
I've been trying different ways to make card deadeyes simple works pretty good as any, cereal box card ca glue after initial placement of little discs with white glue to harden them up to drill, making a dozen at a time. I like them they are smaller and a bit more scale appropriate plenty strong so far.
There are 3 layers for each, the center smaller to form the groove for shrouds or chainplates.

Ah, the famous Frosted Pie Deadeyes.

They look very good after touch of the Birder magic.

I guess a picture of the ship would help, here it is and not much worse for wear during this long break. I made the wood platform with a drawer a while back, and got to looking her over a bit...
