Hi, McHale!
Airbob had been working on a model of Enterprise, which I believe is a sister ship to Hornet; check out his build in this thread: Model of USS Enterprise CV-6? I don't think he finished it, though, but maybe he can be convinced to release it and perhaps, in addition, you can figure out how to use it for a model of Hornet. Let me know how this works out! Some European publisher did have a hurricane-bow Essex conversion at some point; not sure of it's quality.
