Don't give up on the WHM kits...I picked up (on Ebay, of course) a copy of Nimitz for $30 and Forrestal for $15. Sometimes one gets lucky. Betexa has a kit of the Gambier Bay, but I really wouldn't recommend it for building...the designer does not believe in any internal structure whatever, and it turns out as floppy as a plate of hot spagetti.

There's also a couple of good escort carriers you could purchase inexpensivly at WWW.bestpapermodels.com. I'm not sure if it's the same "USS Gambier Bay" you mentiontioned in your list (they also sell their designs to Bexta publishing), but they also have the USS Ancio.

Herky

I may have missed it on the list but didn't see the Dutch carrier Karel Doorman. Available in 1 / 350.
