I have had the same problem and use UHU tube glue (the stringy stuff) where I don't want a water-based glue distorting the paper...it's a bit of a pain to use because of the stringiness but OK once you get used to that and being a bit careful with the 'threads'...

I use UHU teist & glue (yellow plastic bottle, 95ml) less shrink, quick dry, clear.

It was a annoying day in terms of building the model. Usually I'm trying to follow the assembly instructions to the letter. With this one this is impossible. According to instructions after finishing the underwater hull plating I should do the front torpedo launchers. So I woke up early this morning, made myself strong cup of coffee, I grabbed scissors and started to cut out one of the launchers Halfway through I realized that most of this part must be glued to the starboard side hull. According to assembly instructions starboard and port side should be done after torpedo launchers are finished...

I had to read few steps forward and adjust it. After those unfortunate torpedo launchers I should do the keel but I found whole model not very stable when I turn it up side down. So I did the deck. Tomorrow I'll add the keel.

Keel is ready but I had to use the modellers best friend (my father give me set of those 20 years ago) to make it fit. When I tried it before attaching to the hull everything was ok. After applaing glue there was 0,5 mm between hull and keel on both sides...

After keel was done I started board hull no problems with that.Yet

Seems to be coming along very, very nicely despite the keel issue.

Hull is ready! I must admit I'm quite excited. First time since I remember, at this stage the model is not looking bad which is success for me.

Whilst watching Bolt and his friends breaking another record I did one of the torpedo launchers. In the next few days I will do small bits and pieces on both sides of the hull and after that next massive challenge: ship's propellers and steering.

I haven't posted anything for over a month. Sorry for that but I have very good reason

Month ago I had a nasty accident: I was attacked by the dog and my left forearm was badly damaged. Initially doctors said that my left palm might be sort of paralyzed but I had 2 operations and at this moment I don't have much control over left thumb and left index finger... Doctors are saying that everything is going better that they expected and I might fully recover.

So a soon as I do something with Orzel I'll post pics here.

Sorry to hear about the trouble, but very glad to hear that you'll heal 100%. The model will wait for you, don't worry.
