Ok,let`s start then.i will try to show all things i`ve done step by step..the first thing i`ve done was studying the descriptions and assembly drawings of course..then all the frames including landing deck i glued using some sort of rubber glue called "impact" onto 2 mm card, and left it for couple days to let the glue dry out and bound properly both surfaces
After couple days all parts were cutted out very thoroughly |

HI Marlon,
Welcome to the site. Ambitious and large project you have there. I can appreciate the "couple of days to cut out the parts". Look forward to more as you get time.

The next step was to match up all the pieces making a hull frame as thoroughly as possible before they will be glued up together to avoid any problems with hull in the future..Wrong matched up frames can caused whole hull twisted and irregular shape which is a quite difficult to repair..and obviously cause problems with further building progress if something goes wrong so there is a golden rule says " 3 times match up before you glue it once"

Right..this the lighting speed build thread...i dont do it so quick...just catching up...on this forumso..now i will show you how i assembled whole hull..there is a simply trick how to do it quick and good...all we need is a long even wooden board yes yes ...the model is very long 160 cm.. so keep it straight is quite challenging ..the whole hull is composed of 2 sections bottom one and top one, both sections were assembled separately and then assembled together below i have placed pics showing whole process enjoy
the bottom section is pinned to the board what let as place all the frames dead straight) the same process we do with the top section unfortunately i dont have a pics ,another 2 pics show assembled hull |

composite hull i left for a few days to enable the glue bound properly and then the bottom section i filled up with expanding foam to improve the durability of the whole hull
the foam was cut to shape of hull and supplemented by filler which after drying was polished into a suitable shape ... |

Wow, very nice built, and very detailed and clean.
The only thing that sort of bugs me, and it probably has bugged you too, is that part of the deck that has a slightly different color, that's bit of a shame, but there isn't much one can do about that of course.

Wow the hull looks great!!!!! I think I would like to try it now. If you would be willing to share the good and bad side of doing this that would help.
Can you describe the process of adding the foam? Did you have any problems with it expanding and pushing the walls away from each other? Was the heat and fumes generated from the foam any problem? One last foam question, did it bond well with the card stock or did you have to use glue in spots afterwards. The 5" gun turrets look really good did you do the same thing you did with the foam on the hull? I hope you have more pictures of the progress to share. Thanks in advance Todd Anderson
