Ref: USS Richmond- She's a nice looking ship. I like the 4 "pipes". I don't think there are paper models of her or any of the destroyers. My next project will probably be decided by what book I happen to be reading at the time!

Thanks all for the kind words!!

P.S. Don, I "scored" Sunburst for for Father's Day!!

Still in the game...

I'm working on the fiddly bits, so it doesn't seem like I'm making much progress!

Searchlights and binocular stands are the order of the day. Next up anti-aircraft guns.

Those are real close-up images.
Many many fine details crowd the decks of this one.

I am new to card modeling, having built plastic, wood, and resin kits for over 50Great build! years. This build has shown me not only the techniques of building card models but just what can be accomplished as well.

Thanks!

Great Bofors and searchlights. How did you make the recoil rings for the Bofors? Did you look at any laser-cut or etched brass 40mm sets?

Ref: recoil springs- I wound copper wire from electrical cord around the brass wire that I used for the barrel. They are a bit overscale, but they look okay. I may try some smaller diameter wire with the next batch of guns I make.
