Cannon Cutty Sark build all blinged out.
Starting with the cannon cutty sark,
Sailship:Cutty Sark - Vehicles - Paper CraftCanon CREATIVE PARK added string rigging, swapped out the the paper spars for bamboo chopsticks, bamboo skewers, and toothpicks. added ear-ring hooks for eyeholes, made up real ratlines and a rail out of string. and $1 store chain. |

thank you. yes the chains are the real eye catcher, but without the chopsticks for the bowspirit, it wouldn't of worked. All the rigging (easily over half the work) changes this model from a kids toy to a showpiece.
I also added signal flags, and the back rail. All in all, this model has great lines and is a great build for exactly what it was meant to be: a parent-child project. It also took my additions and enhancements seamlessly. I highly recommend this model. Oh wait, I almost forgot. the only problem with this model: its too small. I enlarged all the parts to 150%. If someone could contact cannon, this model really should be twice as big as they have released it. |

That really came out nice. Your additions really elevated the model. Too bad that the part numbers for some of the sails are in plain view. I wonder why Canon didn't move the numbers off to the side.

I was wondering about that. Very nicely done.

just think about it. those sails were custom sized for their location, and they were big and heavy, probably hundreds of pounds even for the good weather sails (they had heavier ones for foul weather) With some 38 sails, you would want a way to tell on the deck what one you were hauling up. In fact you would want to make sure you folded them up when they were dry (avoid rot) and also folded specifically so that the sail number was ON TOP when stored.
