Help in Liverpool
Hi folks. This is mostly a request for some help to have some photos of a ship model in the Merseyside Maritime Museum in Liverpool. The model in question is the SS Oceanic Liverpool museums - SS Oceanic (I) builder's model.
I am interested mostly as this ship is a sister to the SS Atlantic The SS Atlantic - Heritage Interpretation Park - Nova Scotia which wrecked with a tragic loss of life here in Nova Scotia. I have a drawing (side and deck view only) of the ship but would love to see the model details as the drawing is very small and some details are difficult to make out. I would possibly like to build this in a bottle or a larger static display if I can get good enough data. Thanx |

Hello!
Although I am after the aviation (B-737 in hangar), I was in that museum and have seen couple of models there. I think I could have some photos. Please send me a message to not to forget:-) |

Hello!
I looked through the SD cards but found only couple of photos of RMS Berengaria (SS/USS Imperator). Huge and lovely detailed model by the way, so it was well worth to take a wide angle lens! Anyway, please don't worry when I will have time, I will try to go there with my camera and make some nice photos for you:-) Cybermac Last edited by Cybermac; 11-29-2012 at 07:48 AM. |

I hope you are successful, Bluenoser. Atlantic was a beautiful ship that was representative of liners from the intermediate period of transition between sail and steam.
I can't help with your quest, but look forward to seeing your model. Don |

Hello!
I visited the museum late yesterday. I couldn't find the model of SS Oceanic - the one 'with masts and chimneys' straight away, but found a bit hidden on the 2nd floor The light reflects on the glass so they aren't nice, but should give you the details which you will need. Here is the example in small size, the original ones are3400X2400pcx Cybermac Last edited by Cybermac; 12-17-2012 at 11:00 AM. Reason: photo added |

You found it! Most excellent!
So far that is the best image I have seen yet from her. Did you get any others showing some close ups of the deck or deck houses? Thank you for the picture. |
