Tim can you elaborate on "carefully forming the parts"?
how? What tools did you use? how did you test fit?

Dear Matt

I use whatever is at hand to form parts. I have a selection of varying 'tools' that I use.

These are nothing more than; felt-tip pens, paint brushes and wooden skewers.

I find that you only really one chance to put a curve in the right place. The tighter that curve is the more critical to get it right first time.

Most publishers put a small centerline mark on the hull plates to help line things up. The next bit is to line up your starting point for forming your curve. I start forming using a large diameter 'tool' then work my way down to the right radius of curve.

If you've started the forming in slightly the wrong place you can adjust as you go along. You need to keep checking your work.

If you balls this bit up it really is game over. So if it takes a few days, so be it.

Once you are happy with the part it's time for glueing. I don't glue every former, only the ones I need to. It gives a nice smooth look.

Hope the above helps

Tim
