I enjoyed your images Rick.
Do you know who built the one shown in the last image? Looks like he/she built her with no railing or rigging. Mike |

The Modelik version is correct for her, as rebuilt.

Thank you Fred, I looked up the original drawing f/the Dupuy de Lome, that would be the 3rd photo and that looks like the way she was to appear in original build, however the rest of the photos are dated after the drawing, showing 2 mast towers, 2 stacks, not the single tower and triple stacks!
So I have no trouble going w/your knowledge of the vessel and as this is the way she comes as printed by Modelik, then this is the way I will build w/some slight scratch building to replace some missing items not included in the kit. I also may do a 1st for me, that is too paint the hull and upper structures w/printed decks. The more I research this Lady, the more excited I get about building her. Rick

Rick she was rebuilt in 1905. The mystery is, why model her as rebuilt?? Funnelphilia? The original ship is more interesting by far.

Footnote: Spent the evening cutting out framework.......won't bore with photos until I have the frame complete...........am happy to report that the card I used for this has worked out well and I now wished I of saved every piece of card, that made up the back of the kits I have had.

Had some time today to cut out frame work, pretty much have most of it cut out now, working on small details such as circles and opening up doorways. Used some of my favorite tools today, the Japanese Hole Punch and a circle cutter I ordered from Japan, funny, both tools have their origin in Japan, working on a model published in Poland!
I will later tomarrow afternoon start glueing up the frame finially, but to be honest, there is alot of frame work to this little lady. Rick
