Modelik 1890 Dupuy de Lome 1/200th

Bought this last year and I have been wanting to build a card model for awhile and settled on this one.
I used left over cardboard backs from kits to laminate the frame work sheets using 3M spray glue.
I am only using the upper frame/hull parts since this is a waterline build.
Upper Hull frame is glued and drying attached to my magnetic build board, a very handy building board when you want it flat and straight.
So once more into the fray.

I need to make a bit of a correction, I believe I mis ID'd the Dupuy de Lome, it in fact was a Armoured Cruiser. She is considered by some to be the worlds first such vessel and well ahead of her time, w/turreted main guns, heavy Armour and fast speed, compared to her contemporaries.
She was assigned to the Northern Squadron based out of Brest.
The vessel was designed w/commerce raiding as her mission.

Rick,
As a fan of French iron, I look forward to your work.
Someday I may have to purchase this one.

I'm looking forward to this one coming together. I'm a big fan of the pre-Dreadnought era.

I've always liked the design of this ship and often wondered about the model. I know it's an overused term, but this one has a real "Jules Verne" look to it (Sorry, big Verne fan here). The lines are just so unique to that moment in Naval history, wonderful. I'll be watching avidly!
