CSS Virginia // 1:350

I started with building of CSS Virginia
First documentation. Drawings of Joe Hinds.

In fact nobody knows how realy CSS Virginia looked like. Bellow one of the oldest drawings of the ship.

There are some differences between Hind's reconstraction and this drawing.

Immitation of the panel lines with hel of needle and liner.

In fact op deck was one big gretting from still rods. I try to imitate it in paper in this way.

gun barrel under construction.

closing cesamete

The model stick to photorealistc imitation of water.

Card model of the "USS Monitor" // scale 1:350 //

Blackbeard, it's good to see that you have finally begun designing and building the Virginia. The already available Paper Shipwright's model is great, but I see that yours looks interesting.
Keep up the good work!

What a pity that this beautiful model is only half model. I mean, no full hull as it should be.
