At last the turrets are finished.
The top half is before painting, the bottom half is after paint. The white line over the left turret is a reflex (I'm still using a computer camera instead of a real one, so colors and contrast will change without previous advice) Next week I'm going to be finishing the camouflage correction of the ship, and comparing the before and after. The has been some correction of the aft end, involving some sanding.

Quite a project. Those turrets will really help to set this off.

Proceeding with the rest of the superstructure. Once finished, I'll proceed to do a second layer of paint.
Later, comes the secondary armament, the guns, radar and so on, another paint layer... And finally, the masts, flag posts, anchor chains and the small almost invisible paint touches.

The first picture is the ship as the instructions lets it be. After that, it's necesary to second-guess partial drafts and join by number. Luckly, I have some internet pictures and manual to use as guide. The next pictures shows the Missouri after assembling part of the upper decks, AA guns locations and the frontal funnel.
The next steps are to paint, add the railings, and assemble the secondary and AA guns. The camouflage is going to be improved as more pieces are attached

Adding miscelaneos platforms arround the funnels. The cross over the funnels top are leveled, not over them as the instructions show.
The "king of the world" position is now with the machine gun nest instaled Small detail al over the ship can be seen, and more small platforms and AA nest are going to be instaled.

Since last post, I installed the platforms around the back funnel, retouched som paint details, and started to do the secondary 5" dual turrets.
In this pictures there are two instaled in the port side, and one in the starboard side (not visible). The 5" guns used to be pointing outside, 45º up, at least on patroll.

I keep going with the secondary guns. So far, there are six of ten installed.
I installed the anchors and the chains. The real ship has a knucle in the anchor's hole that isn't included in the paper model, so I scratch-build the pieces. The anchors are different too. Even as I'm citating many changes, the great part of them are paint and scale-related. I'll say that 97% of the model is accurate in the original scale. Next step: the last four secondary guns and all the AA nests.

The last double turret has been installed.
Soon, the rest of the AA nest will be done

At last placing the AA nest over the decks!
As allways, the auxiliary pictures and books were totally necessary. The three white rounds in the rear decks are the placs for the crane and two catapults. This place is going to be full of lifeboats, too. The pictures quality is bad for the angle of the day, and the camera quality. Sorry. I hope to publish better pictures soon. Anyway, remember that the scale is 1/700 and the ship width is 4.6 cm!
