Robert, thanks for the link.
I have Norton Internet Security running all the time and fully activated; i.e. I have not disabled firewalls or anything. I left it to do a full scan when I went to work this morning and it only found cookies. I haven't spotted the suspicious html words yet, but my Internet Explorer does not seem happy with the site. It keeps saying it is shutting down but then continuing and I get a message at the bottom saying that it has encountered problems with page. Enough of that. Let's get back to admiring Mike's work. Curious that I have no issues with my iPad. Well.
I want to say that the bicycle is pow is fantastic. And apologies to Mike, once again. I'm not comfortable in most places here. Plus, while I am working like a canine to get Neptune plans (again, thanks to Renud) I have input that Charles-Martel is more desired. I might point out that nobody but, ahem, moi, can do either of these boats as models. Neptune is less known but perhaps she might be the more valued as a result? Carl |

Neptune
Here is an attractive painting of Neptune I located on the web. It is an oil painting by Edmond Chagot portraying the ship in the harbor at Brest. Her lines appear very similar to Magenta.
I like the battlemasts on this class. Mike Last edited by Michael Mash; 05-05-2013 at 07:37 AM. |

That's a wonderful image, Mike. It reminds me of Ian Marshall's superb paintings.

02 - Hull Framing
I owe thanks to many that have checked in with comments and praise . . . Fred, Glen, Marco, Robert, Don and David.
That includes the designer. Carl . . . Looking forward to more news about your work. Great stuff, whether it is the "Neptune" or the "Charles Martel". I hope you had a chance to see that "Edmond Chagot" painting I posted. Looks to me like it contains some valuable information about various colors used on the ship, particularly the color of the 4 large gun barrels . . . assuming the artist was accurate with his colors. The background of the painting would seem to indicate so. Work on Masséna has slowed, due to external events. You will need a sharp eye to see some progress. In general . . . this frame is a pleasure to build. The design is interesting, and the form is unique. I plan to get many images of it prior to covering it all up. Regards, Mike |

You sure do beautiful work, Mike!
The upper hull framing looks really sinister and Jules Vernish in black. I see that your Iowa has been featured in the Model Warships gallery: http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery/bb/bb-04/Iowa-250-mm/index.htm Don |
