Hello Thomas,
Congratulations for a fine diorama. As always, excellent work. And many fine images! My favorite are the ones showing the sailors working with the mines at the stern. Regards, Mike |

SMS Albatross, Bildrum, 1:250
Wow, Thomas!
This is a stunning ship model - Gunnar Sillén (of Sweden) makes wonderful ship models in 1:250 scale. Fantastic attention to detailing - the rigging is just awsome, and I really like the little sailors, the realistic weathering that you did with the diesel smoke on the smoke stacks and the rust on the stern. Amazingly beautiful water, too - out of this world. Museum quality at this small scale! All the best, Bengt in Stockholm |

Moiiiiiiiin,
@Bengt Fréden: Thank You very much for Your commendation to Sweden! I sent some of my photos to Gunner Sillén to show him what I've made out of his original cardmodel. I'm very happy that he has constructed such a rare german ship from WW I. Anyway cardmodellers are in better situation than plastic-modellers, primaly concerning imperial German warships. In plastic scale 1:350 You find SMS Emden and perhaps battleships of the König-class, that's all. If You want more You can try to get an expensive resin-model.....most of them in 1:700. For this reason I started to build cardmodels, the assortment is so much larger. @Art Deco: Thanks a lot to China for Your kind words! Without figures there is no point in a diorama. Therefore I manned my last models all. lg. Thomas |
