Thanks for this site, Jay.
Yu -- I'm looking forward to seeing your future Japanese warships. Your 1/430 Fuso is one of the finest models I've ever seen. Do you plan to stay in that scale for the Atago and Shokaku? What time period will they portray? Don |

Thanks Don for kind words.
As to the Takao the scale I am planning is 1/350 because 1/430 is too small and photo etched railings at 1/350 is easily available in Japan becuase of booming plastic model ships at that scale among baby boomer. The time period is 1932-1939. As to Shokaku I have not yet decided the scale. Sorry Jay, in return to my interruption I post some of sites on IJN ship and hope those sites help Boat davit http://homepage2.nifty.com/vanguard/study/study6.htm paravane http://doga.jp/dogal_gallery/gallery.cgi?action=show&id=20060704165049&class=B& page=46 launch and cutter http://www.din.or.jp/~nakamura/mutu_08.html |

Thanks Ju,
I was checking out the site that has the small boats the other day and it was very helpful and inspirational in adding some details. And it is no interuption, the more references we can all dig up to show interesting little details to help out is just more gravy for all of us. Looking forward to your builds, I really dig the IJN designs from that period, they all looked very purposeful and highly thought out with a few minor exceptions here and there. The Treaty limitations invited some forward thinking in a lot of the designs that they came up with and using innovations from other navies around the world made for a rather formidable and interesting fleet for such a small nation.
