How many pages will this be? I think that mirror image printing on the back of the printed pages would really enhance the model. Less 'blank white' areas. Otherwise looking good. I think bbq skewers for the cross-pieces on the masts might also be good.

Looks Great! And kudos to you for teaching your boyfriend about papermodeling!
I am also guilty of hiding all of my modeling flaws with (equally flawed) details. "If you can't fascinate them with the facts, dazzle them with the detail."
