1:150 HM Frigate "Surprise"

Considering how close ships are to my heart, I'm surprised that I don't do ships that often, so I figured that I might as well do one of the ships I've always wanted to do - a frigate of Her Majesty's Navy.
(Also, the ship I work at is now selling hard copies of my models in her gift shop, so the more relevant models I produce, the more money I get)

What I've discovered so far is that sailing vessels are EXTREMELY tedious, but as of now, I have the hull done. Suffice it to say that I'm not too excited about doing the sails...

Words cannot describe how tedious doing the sails are.

I have done very few ship models, sticking with fairly simple ones. On your models that I have done, most went together fairly well, so I'm looking forward to this.

It is fun to watch you design this from nothing.
Looking forward to more.

Oh my god, the sails are done. The ____ing sails are finally ____ing done.
And with that, so are all the parts! As much as I want to build this tomorrow or sometime sooner within the week, I'm saving this for Friday, as my boyfriend wants in on this as well

Incredible!

How can we buy your models from the ship you work on- is there a website?

I love to build sailing ships and don't find them tedious at all. How do I get a copy of HMS Surprise, and what ship do you work on?

The Surprise hasn't been put up on Brian's DeviantArt page yet. As for the second question: Lighthouse Tender USCGC Lilac

Thanks for clarifying, Vermin!

Here's "my" ship's website: LILAC Preservation Project - Home

As for when the Surprise will be up, my boyfriend and I are going to do the testbuild Friday, so it might be in the later hours of that day. I'll try to keep ya updated.
