No rush on this Jim. I can wait 'til you publish ... and to be honest ... I don't actually know what an .svg file is. Presumably Photoshop or some other professional class software. Best I can go to are Paint.net or The Gimp. I think there's a Coral Program on here somewhere too, but I've no experience using it.

As to the mast, maybe it's an optical illusion, but with the sail mounted it looks to be well behind central, but even then, from my little dingy/wind surfer experience, it does need to be somewhat for'ard of mid-ships, to create a tail drag that greatly enhances steer-ability. Maybe the Vikings didn't know that, which may account for them arriving in all sorts of strange places.

On medieval ships this for'ard o' midships position isn't so obvious, as it is usually achieved by slanting the masts. This slant being adjustable by the rigging, so that it can be sorted to best during a maiden voyage.

Funny the things you learn by reading 'Pirates' fiction, ain't it.

Still snippin' away .... Johnny.

Gimp can open up .svg's. If you can work with that go ahead! Just PM me if you want the file.

So I designed the stand to imitate Norse art styles. The ship is held up by serpents, which are leaping out from Jǫrmungandr's sea, which of course lies on Yggdrasil, as drawn on the two ends of the base. Finally, the two sides simply read "Vikingr Skeid" in really crappy Futhark.

Just some advice: don't build anything right after you've exercised. Shaky hands will only bring bad things.
