Welcome. You are starting out with a BIG project. Have you done much with models in either wood or plastic?

Have you seen UHU02's model of the Black Pearl?
It's normally available as a free download on his site. (Just Google uhu02, and you'll find him.) or you can find it in The Papercraft Museum. I haven't plucked up the courage to start it myself yet. Also available free via Paperhollywood is The Wicked Wench. This was Jack Sparrow's ship that was burned, sunk, and later returned to him from Davey Jones Locker as the Black Pearl. Welcome to the forum, and I'll keep an eye out for your progress reports. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |

Have you read this? It's essential reading for all Potc fans.
This is the story of Jack Sparrow, from a boy to around the period that the films start. It explains many of the 'Things unsaid' or 'unexplained' in the films, and I found it a compelling read in it's own right. It's pretty obvious that Johnny Depp had read it. That's how he managed to get the characterization so perfect, and really made it his own. I doubt that anyone could follow him in the role now. Johnny. |
