Can anyone identify this ship?
I saw this in kartonmodellshop.de . It appears to be a magazine cover, and the title underneath it says HMS Albatross 1942, but a Google search shows the Albatross to be a seaplane tender, with one funnel. It is definitely a warship, but what drew my attention was two funnels side-by-side and a third funnel behind.

This is what Google identified as HMS Albatross 1942.

...and Gurgle got it right too ...Albatwoss
...plans available from Profile Morske Paper plans of Warships in 1:144 scale As for your first post I'd better keep looking. Found the little blighters Regina Margherita-class battleship 't would seem the magazine also includes an article on the Albatross and the French shipborne flying boat. Here is something about the Re Umberto class that looks real close to that ship:
RN Re Umberto - Barbette Battleship (1883) - Big, Bad Battleships' Picture History Here is a picture of a battleship that looks like it might have two side-by-side funnels forward and one funnel aft: File:Rnsicilia.JPG - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Something about the Majestic class battleships that have side-by-side funnels but not the third funnel: majestic class battleship - Google Search Here is something that shows the USS Wisconsin with side-by-side funnels: Big, Bad Battleships: The U.S. New Navy, 1880-1910 Click on USS Wisconsin on the left. Here is something about the boiler configuration: The Cylindrical Fire-Tube Boiler There is a note near the bottom about HMS Victoria with side-by-side funnels. Hopefully this information will help you in your quest.

The illustration is of a Polish model ship's magazine The picture on front is, I think, the Italian Battleship 'Regina Margherita' of 1901 The reason why it says HMS Albatross is because the magazine contains the second part of an article, started the previous issue, on the seaplane tender Albatross. Hope this clears it up. Neil |

Pretty sure I covered most of that.
Funnels are sometimes associated with boiler rooms (although not always when it comes to liners) Anyway stuff from Janes to add to my earlier post - |
