The printed chain was a Photoshop experiment; it didn't come with the kit. But I like the way it looks on the model. The metal chains that are available have the wrong kinds of links. This is paper but it's more accurate.

The chains in the attached j-peg are 6-7/8" long in 1/200 scale. You're welcome to use them.

I did. I had the 1/4" acrylic panels cut for me by a plastics shop. I built the base and assembled the cover. (It actually required two of us.)

The case was an expensive project--about five times the cost of the ship. But my wife said, "It's an heirloom; do it right." I love my wife.

I took my GPM Bismarck and four paper aircraft to a regional scale model contest in Oshkosh today. Everyone there was asked to vote for seven models out of some 300 entries. The top seven vote getters would each receive a plaque. There were some really impressive plastic models there. I entered the only paper mnodels--Halinski Wildcat, P-39, and Hurricane, and Modelcard "Vought Vindicator."

My Bismarck was one of the top seven. All those amazing plastic models and my paper model Bismarck takes a plaque -- and the only one in the "Watercraft" category.

It was a good day.

My head is playing with the idea of building this kit... One year it took for you... Maybe 2 for me?

I started my first ship long time ago and I am really impressed by how fast you finish her..wow I feel like mine project will take few years, I need to hurry up otherwise who is going to fight with the Bismarck...I am building HMS Hood....Great work David and I need to admire your timing on your build

Beautiful work. I'm about to start my first paper kit after being a long-time plastic and metal modeller. I have the GPM Conte di Cavour and would love tips. I'm aiming to go straight kit without embellishments for my first. I think this is a Chinese reprint as some of the instruction pages have a mix of Polish and Chinese. It's labelled Link removed, Pirate Site Print quality appears pretty good and cardboard sheets are labelled in Chinese and english for the size .e.g 2mm.

Unfortunately, I think the site you linked, is a pirate site, as they are hosting scans of commercially available kits.
I will agree that their interface is very snazzy, and makes it look like a vendor, all the kits they are showing are pirated models
Free models being offered for sale, commercial models having been scanned, and offered for sale.

I would have rather you asked on the forum about your first paper model, as we could have educated you on what is what, and what to look out for, and steered you clear of pirate sites
