I have finished fitting the frames and have also fitted the starboard gun deck. I really am learning a lot so far about paper-card ship modeling. This is really fun!

Thanks Don. By the way, if anyone sees anything that I could do better, I would greatly appreciate the constructive criticism.

Nothing here to criticize. The only advice I could give would be to keep having fun.

Michael i have built a couple of Billings Boats over the years and would only attempt kits with painted hulls... So i could cover up my poor planking with lots of putty... It's a whole different hobby planking hulls correctly, no doubt some thinks its easy lol

I am in a minor holding period right not. According to the JSC instruction sheet, I am supposed to work on the secondary armament, and as I am learning a new type of modeling, I prefer to not deviate from the instructions. I am waiting for a Micro-Mark hole punch to arrive as well as a set of metal gun barrels from White Ensign Models. I prefer the metal barrels to paper ones as they are more realistic. I will continue as soon as these arrive.

Gentlemen,

I know that it has been a long time, but I have had adverse health issues. Anyway, I am resuming this build. I do have two questions . . . I have seen some builds in which the builder filled the spaces between the frames with various substances that I assume are some form of foam or resin in order to add structural strength. First, is this necessary? Second, if so, what is the best substance to use?

Thanks!

Bill
