Are the wood bits glued on at this point? Or do you paint before gluing?

Glued bits on first

Graf Zeppelin 1:700 Scale-100_9867.jpg

Gave the area a bit of a paint, to show up any problems.

Doesn't look too bad.

Might end up giving the whole boat a coat of grey. Rather than detail port holes and any deck markings. Depends how I feel.

Been a while since my last post on this build.

Have started to add all the hull platforms

Graf Zeppelin 1:700 Scale-101_0068.jpg

Next stage is to add the gangways and strat builing up the AA guns.

Tried to add some detail / colour to the aircraft. Used paintbrush, didn't work out.

Gangways are all built up:

Graf Zeppelin 1:700 Scale-101_0077.jpg

At 1:700 scale its a bit difficult to put too much detail into the AA guns. Have opted for the simple approach of a wood dowel with a hole drilled through. A bit of wire stuck in then a card shield.

Don't think it looks too bad.

She's all painted. Used Revell grey acrylic. It went on well:

Graf Zeppelin 1:700 Scale-101_0092.jpg

Seems a bit too clean. Soon fix that

Graf Zeppelin 1:700 Scale-101_0106.jpg

Much better, used a wash (ProModeller dark dirt)

Planes next

Tim, did you finish this one? Any final pics? I'm thinking of taking it on, maybe doubling scale to 1/350.
