IPMC Bonus Model
As a bonus at the last several paper model conventions (IPMC) Pete Heesch of H & B Cardmodels has given each exhibitor a gift of a paper model to build.
Recently I tackled one from several conventions ago, a JFS classic model which appears to be from the period of the 1960s or 1970s given its format. It was a single sheet, with a page attached of English language general construction hints and an exploded view. Typical of JFS models, every piece fit like a glove, and the paper, despite its age, was very good. It is of the Hamburg tugboat, Michel. and is in 1/250 scale, I believe. You had the choice of making it full hull or waterline. A fun project and a reminder that IPMC is coming up in November again this year. I'll be announcing the categories for the awards competition for that upcoming event shortly. Alan Fairfax, Virginia USA Last edited by wb4jjj; 02-20-2009 at 12:51 PM. Reason: attach picture |

Wow, I sure got that month wrong. It was a very senior moment to be sure for this very senior paper modeler.
If I had checked your blog, I would have known that the dates for the IPMC convention are October 23-25, 2009. I'm going to have the URL tatooed on my arm: International Paper Model Convention Write it down: October 23-24, 2009, and watch for the competition announcement. Alan |

It's a beautiful little tugboat, Alan. I look forward to seing your models at the convention.
We are also going to have a small display table at the 16 May 2009 Army Heritage Day at the Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle (more info coming soon). Perhaps you can drive up on that day. Don PS: "We" = Rick Steffers, Kevin Stephens, and me so far. |
