"This is the Maersk Alabama...We are under attack by pirates."
So I just finished reading "A Captain's Duty", and by god is it good. I highly recommend it for military/maritime enthusiasts. With the movie coming out in a few days, I felt it proper to do a model of the heroic ship herself: the Maersk Alabama. The model will be in 1:500 scale.

Looking good Rocketmantan.
This reminded me that I have the Maersk Emma that I am designing in 1/400 scale, I need to dig it out and finish designing it. |

It amazes me what models people can design, heck I don't even know how to open a model into GIMP... Looking forward to this!

Well once again, I've disappointed myself. Why I'm going to upload this is beyond my understanding.

Don't be dissapointed. Simple models may not be as "fancy" as detailed ones, but they are so much more acessible to the most of us. And a good way for kids to start building paper models.
Being an aviation builder I did do some ship models in 1/1250 scale. Ships are not that easy to design. S&P |
Might have a good candidate for your next working ship, RMT:
