I'm enjoying (and learning) watching your standard operating procedures on that hull.
Thanks for the closup shot on those techniques.

Under water skinning is very nice but you sand it?

The surface of the underwater hull was sealed with a pores filler. Then sanded and the whole procedure repeated. Bilge keels, shafts and shaft brackets were added. Humbrol paint was applied. After drying it was again sanded with fine emery paper.

Then, mishap happened:
I laminated the deck sections to 0,5mm card board and weighted them down with books to keep them even. When removing the books, I tore off parts of the out most layer of the print, caused by remnants of glue, unnoticed by me.
So I had to order a second model print.

That is very unfortunate to hear Hans. Have you stopped swearing yet? Just another reason to scan then cut I guess.

Darn! That's a shame Hans.

I hate it when stuff like that happens. Very unfortunate.

However, it's mishaps like this one that teach us to make lemonade from lemons. Which I myself have done several times.

Good luck with the repair/patch Hans.

I must say, that hull is beautiful. So smooth and straight. What a piece of work. I followed your Shikishima build, and your hull techniques are about as refined as it gets.

Did the glue bleed through the paper? It seems an aweful lot got torn to be just a unlicky drop or 2.

The hull is looking great. I will get this model once Krys at Paper Model Store has it in the US.
