Thanks Guys,

Always nice to get one finished so you can move on to another one.

I will have something to post on my latest, the Akizuki, tomorrow.

Thanks so much for sharing. Great ideas and techniques as I work on my Father's first command; 'Rupertus,' seen in some of the pictures from the Forrestal disaster. The comments on time period versions was an eye-opener. Rupertus was FRAM'd twice, and I see other changes (awnings, rafts, life-lines...)

Thanks Gents,

Marco, looking at the excellent craftsmanship that you lavish on the Tegetthoff and your Hamburg Diorama is an inspiration for me.

Aansorge, try to find as much information as you can on the 'Rupertus' for the period that you want to model the ship at and go over the photos with a fine tooth comb, you would be amazed at the level of detail that it will allow you to add to your model.
While the Selfridge model is a very good kit, it does not have a great amount of detailing, picking apart the photos that I was able to find for the period I intended to build let me bring my model up a notch or three from "box stock".

Question My dad was on this ship

My dad was on this ship in WWII. I am new to this site and don't exactly know all the rules, but do you ever sell what you make? My dad passed away back in 1988, so I don't know a lot about his time on the ship, but I believe he was on it when it got hit. I vaguely remember seeing a picture of him on the ship with part of it missing.
