Hello Tommaso,
Very nice work on the interior of your ship. There is a lot of good detail in there. Mike |

Hi, thank you!
@maximus1949, I also have the Albatros on my to-do list. I will build it eventually --- Here the weekend update. Parts n. 86 are 39 lasercut braces, supporting the level L1. These are quickly added. The walls of the first level (L1) feature another 18 lights and are glued in place. In the aft region, all the cables are squeezed between the hangar inner walls and the outer walls. The hangar ceiling is then added. In the last picture, I glued as many cables as possible to the ceiling of the hangar. There are now a few bundles coming out; all these cables will go up another level and from there thicker wires will be routed to the hull at the bottom.

The last part before moving to the second level (L2) are the railings: 14 lasercut pieces are bent and glued in place (fig. 1-4); a few extra pieces are added to this level (fig. 5-8).

And now it's time to close the L1-L2 levels; four lights are placed on the ceiling. A few final adjustments are done and a connector with 15cm cable is soldered to the open leads. As you can see, nothing else is surfacing from the lower two levels in the fore region. In the aft region, some more work is still needed.
The support braces of L2 are also glued (last two pictures). Cheers, Tommaso

Hi!
Here there are some more progress; the superstructure is progressing steadily and I also can't wait to see the results with all the lights on! After two levels completed, the procedure has become quite familiar. First come the windows, then the lights with the cables and then the walls are installed. But first of all I built the underlying structure, which extends up to the uppermost level.

I am deeply regretting that I already installed the railings, since handling of the superstructure is now difficult and there is the danger of breaking the fragile structure. Therefore I will not install them now in the upper levels, except where the space is too tight and installation at a later stage would be problematic, which basically means only the stairs connecting the levels.
These are entirely lasercut parts and are realized in a much easier way than in the previous HMV models that I built. A single piece contains both the lateral structure and the steps and just requires to be bent and maybe some glue for reinforcement. With this design, having a good alignment and spacing of the steps becomes an easy and fast task. On this level I also realized the routing of the last cables from the lower levels, by means of another cabled connector.
