I need help
Hello,
I am making IJN Hiei at the moment, and I would like to make lifeboats and cutters. Original parts in the kit are not exactly what I would like them to be, that's why I want to make them from scratch, add much more detail, and make them (especially their shape) much more accurate. Do any of you have a technical drawings or blueprints showing the cross-section of the 15m Japanese cutter from WW2 used on battleships? Best regards, Adam |

IJN Heiei
Hi,
First of all my admiration on an absolutely superb build. (you must have microscopic eyes and tweezers for fingers!) Re her boats, the info that I have states she had 9 meter oared cutters - 15 meters is huge for a ship's boat. Really good drawings of these can be found in Conway's Anatomy of a Ship - The Heavy Cruiser Takao. I would think that your local library will have a copy of this book or can get one for you. Very best regards Justin |
