Thanks, Michael Mash. No problems up to this moment, but many more handrails are still waiting to be fitted...

@ Chaldane: Fortunately yours and others threads learned me not to fix the main superstructure to the main deck until finished; fixing the stairs and many other parts would indeed have become impossible. I place on the deck only for the purpose of general view pictures.
I am surprised that your stairs fitted so well... Could it be that 'the photo-etched' set
that your are talking about is an earlier (metal) version of the official HMV(cardboard) lasercut set that I am using for my model? Are 'photo-etched' and 'lasercut' in fact different products? I simply don't know. What I do know that my HMV was issued only recently, I think in 2013.

After looking at your photos I realized that you were just setting the superstructure on the hull for photos. Sorry, I should have paid more attention.
The photo-etched parts are metal as opposed to the paper laser cut parts. I've noticed that HMV doesn't produce the photo-etched sets anymore. They were quite expensive, but the laser cut parts aren't cheap either. The photo-etching process uses acid for etching out the parts, so I suspect that the handling and disposal of chemicals might have influenced their decision to produce only the laser cut parts - no chemicals, just LOTS of smoke.

Thank you, nighthawk78, for your comment; I am happy that my build is pleasing you. And thanks to Chaldane for his clarifications.

I finished the next floor of my main superstructure, with, again, lots and lots of handrails:

HMV, for the serous builder and this just shows how detailed these kits are. Outstanding work and I look forward to every time you post.
Rick

PS: Chaldane was and I guess still is building a very nice version of this kit as well. Look forward to seeing it return when ready.

I have been working hard on that main superstructure and the 11 + 4 windscreen wipers for the bridge/control room are already in place. Very challenging, but what a model this is...! Remember this is all not 1:100 or 1:200, but 1: 250 scale. But it still is a joy to build.
Next step: the complete control room interior plus lots of details to be added to the bridge.

Hello Yankee,
You needed some patience with all that railing and the windshield wipers.
Very nice.

You can count on that, Michael Mash... This time it took hundred of parts, many of them of the 'small, smaller, smallest' type to finish the equipment at the left and right side of the bridge, plus, of course, the beautifully detailed interior of the 'command room'.

Next step: the roof of that command room; goodbye to most of the detailing inside...
