1:250 Ship Railing and portholes Suppliers?

I am building the 1:250 Wilhelmshavener Weserstien/Travestien and am looking for a supplier of 1:250 (or close to it) ship railing and portholes.

I am following the build at TS Travestein
and going with the Hamburg Harbor diorama and adding other HMV harbor buildings.
Hamburger Hafen Diorama / HMV / 1:400

These are my first paper model builds and i am looking for as much realism as possible with a paper model, so I am OK with using other materials and parts to complete the build; I do not want to build railings.

I have tried Gold medal models, but they will not accept credit cards or Paypal under $100 and I would rather not send MOs or cheques (a pity, they must lose a lot of business); I have tried Amazon and Ebay, but they will not ship to Canada.

Does anyone know of any suppliers of 1:250 ship railing portholes (round/square) in the States or Europe that will ship to Canada, and accept Paypal or Credit cards?

Thanks for any help with this.

You could try HMV direct:

Kartonmodellbau - Artikel - www.kartonmodellbau.de

Or these:

Orlik Model Kartonowy, Sklep internetowy

GPM ? modele kartonowe

Some of the HMV kits have laser cut sets available.

I emailed HMV to see if they have laser cut sets.

What is the difference between Laser cut, etched and cardboard?

HMV has this plus some others:
Railing 1:250 , 2 eyelets , straight, white , 1,2 m x 1m
Height 1.20 m (4.8 mm) , a distance of 1 m (4 mm)
13 x 180 mm standard rail, with short and long stanchions . For naval and merchant ships.

Will this work for railing with the Travestein model?

I am looking for something that looks like real railing or chain railing.

Maybe you can try Hiob's excellent approach to making realistic railings as covered in this tutorial - IJN Hiei Japanese Battleship (GPM 1:200)

Just scroll down to the middle part of the thread.

Oops, sorry. I didn't notice that you mentioned that you don't want to build railings. My apologies.

What is the best railing that looks like railing etched or cardboard?

is etched like round wire or is it flat?

Bluenoser used laser cut card from Avantcard, which looks pretty good, but Avantcard are no longer supplying parts.
TS Travestein

I may order the elastic thread, it looks like useful stuff for rigging and railings.
Is the thread just glued to the upright part of the railing and how do you mount the upright part of the railing?

Thanks
