Thanks for all the advice and good wishes. That's too bad about the Yubari, it's a new kit too. Looks like you fixed it pretty well though, Joe!

My problem with scanning is that I can't figure out how to do it too well - everything comes out way too big or small I did resize JSC's Monica from 1:200 to 1:250, but I ended up using the photocopy function for that...

I did tack everything down and I think I can make it work. The stern doesn't fit too well either, but I'm working up from there hoping most of the physical cutting and pasting can be done up front.

Started out with Duco on this stuff and ended up with Aleenes and gel superglue. I'm just not getting the hang of these solvent glues. I figure it's like painting, there I prefer oils over acrylics. Whatever gets the job done. Luckily, I've seen the kit finished several times so I know it can be done.

I am going to have to treat myself to a Halinski after this build I think. Maybe something small and boxy like a tank...

Stern looks nice!
I think you can fix the bow as well and looking forward to how you deal with it

Looks fine and clean. About the scaling don't think of that way scan at 100% at 300 dpi (hopefully you have photo adjust program) use the scale function and just drag the part in the direction you want

Hi Jim,

Coming right along with this one. I know what you mean when it comes to the stern end of things on some of these ships. Working on the back end first may be the way to go. Both of the answer Models kits that I have started on seem to require work if you start at the bow and go to the stern. I may have to try working in reverse, it sure would avoid the dreaded triangular fill in piece.

Now that green color scheme is starting to appear. I really like it.

Outstanding, Jim!

I like seeing Isuzu lurking in the background.

Looking good - and it's always nice to see more Halinski builds

I wasn't sure before, but now that it's on I'm liking the green color too.

Some of the parts sweep above the deck so I may have to trim, but I'm leaving them for now. Luckily, the parts ended up being slightly too long and all i did was trim the backs of the bow parts off and make a small one to sqeeze in between the bottom two bow plates. Overall, I guess I'm OK with it and I do like this hull red much better than the colors that came with the kit. I think I got spoiled with the Answer Isuzu - everything fit so nicely.

Done with the hard part of the hull now (I think) and it's time for a bit of sleep.

In the office I was unable to settle down to work in an excess of anxiety how you solve the problem though I believe you can.
This is the way what I expected.
Bewdy!
Now I can buckle down to work

Still do you want to take up something boxy after this?

Jim -- You solved that bow problem with style. It looks great and I am relieved that you have alleviated Yu's anxiety so that he can get back to work. It's fun for us duffers to see you two masters of the craft at work and interacting.
