Thanks Don for the clarification.
Thanks Jim, David and Chris for the positive feedback.

Hello Diderick and Thank You.
I scrolled through most of the images on your site. You are building a huge inventory of paper/card modeling images. It’s a pleasure browsing through them. Regarding the Lightship Texel: A very interesting and attractive lightship. It makes a good candidate for a future project.
Best Regards,
Mike

Michael,

Usually I like very much the "strange" and unusual ships, this is why I love 19th century ships.

But this Lightship i really something of very particular and fascinating, both in building and in presentation

My best compliments for this model and I'll wait for your next creation

Ciao

Jp

Hi Mike, wonderful model as usual: we can't expect nothing less from your mastership, especially when you look at the small details that you added.
I'd like to build this little jewel from long ago, but i never attempted. Your model put this one higher in my to-do list.
A question: where did you find out the plans for the hull under the water ? Did you drawn them by yourself or did you adapted them from original drawings?

Thanks and my compliments. Nando

Hello Nando and Thank You.
I had no formal set of plans for the lower hull. However, I did have a small side view drawing that gave me the general outline of it from the side. I also located several images of the ship in dry-dock. Using Microsoft Paint, I drew the crossmembers (only five were needed) from scratch. So I can't guarantee the shape of the hull is "exactly" as it would be with a set of plans. I worked on it and when I was happy with the appearance, I went ahead and built it. Here is the first image of this thread showing the keel and five crossmembers. As you can see, it is really a very simple assembly. Good luck with yours, if/when you go ahead with it.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike, your answer makes grow more my respect for your craftsmanship: not only you was able to capture the shape of the hull but also you designed "old way" the hull plates. Chapeau!

Best, Nando
