Exactly.
Regarding the glue: I use water-based glue called BCG - brand clear glue. Please read this:

After shaping the way you write, I use little piece of tissue-paper, and few drops of BCG to coat the interior and reinforce the seams.
When it is dry, few minutes of additional shaping ends the work on half-spherical element (or any similar).
