Gotland class submarine, scale 1/400

Next model in my collection is Swedish SSK Gotland class - advanced submarine, first construction powered with AIP system which allows to stay submerged for weeks. Quiet, fast, armed to teeth, undetectable - lethal weapon, feared by all ASW surface assets on international naval exercises.

3D model:

It is simple shaped construction, both real object and the model. Cylindrical hull with half-sferical and conical ends, light hull with trapezoid cross-section.

Hull sections ready to join, half-sferical section initially formed:

View from inside. "Leafs" are glued edge2edge with water based glue:

External view. The dome still needs some shaping with round tip steel rod (huge nail), on some rubber pad

And done:

The paper dome in the last image can't be done any better than that.

Thank You Jim.

I regret my printer this time couldnt make it, and print quality is doubtful (despite HQ settings, black color is poor)

Gives it the look of a stealth coating...

It's all good...no, it's great!

Cheers!
