Hello JP,
I like your idea of protecting the project from dust.
When you have a piece of work as nice as this one, keeping away the dust is certainly worth it.

"Handmade" handrails don't get much better than this JP.
They give your ship an exceptional appearance from one end to the other.

@Joe,
@Marco
@Mike
@Didier

many thanks for your words, my friends....

The pics are mad just by my iPhone (I lost my digital camera a couple of years ago and I still don't decided to bought a new one...).. i'm planning to buy a new camera, perhaps before my summer vacancies... :-)

But, believe be (@Mike) ... the handrails you are making are far superiors.
They're more similar each other... instead some of mine have a light (but visible) difference in dimensions.... especially the white ones...

By the way... This morning I have worked on the transparent cabinet that will host the Nikolaj... It's made by transparent perspex 2,5 mm thickness.

The base, at the moment, is made by a two layer of 1.5 mm cardboard, one of the inside dimension of the case and the lower just a bit larger.

In the future I'll put below an equivalent plywood base.

Now the Nikolaj is really near to be finished... I must only add flags, a couple of steering wheels on flying bridge, the secondary anchors and it's will be done... at the last will be hosted in her case.... :-)

I'll post tomorrow some pics of the ship and the case.

have a nice time and happy modeling !!

Ciao

Jp

Hello again to all paper modelers here !!

As wrote in my last message, during the weekend I made some more tasks on Nikolai I° model.

I have built the case, working with transparent 2,5 mm thick perspex, with the base of the case made by cardboard.

I have also positioned the rigging along and between the masts and now what is still missing are the russian navy flags and, at last, the couple of secondary anchors.

The last very thing will be the name of the ship in the case and ....to find a place in my home where place it.

Some pics about the yesterday evening status.

have a nice time and happy paper modeling !!!

Ciao

Jp

Nice case JP.
That will keep the dust away.
Your Imperator Nikolai should look as good ten years from now as it does today.
