Thanks for the info, Ted. I also received a PM from Darwin/

I'm looking forward to your Coast Guard cutter builds, Scott, and will be watching closely to see how you modify the kits to make them historically accurate.

If they look as good as your Erie, it will be a treat.

Don

I'll probably make a seperate thread later on, but for now, here's the present state of the first version I'm building of the USCGC Roger B Taney. This one is in her 1944 configuration, the kit as designed. A way to go, yet, but taking shape nicely, I think. Sorry, still using the phone camera.

Gosh, these were good-looking ships!

Looks like mighty fine craftsmanship on Taney.

They look great, Scott!

I guess this has been asked before but is there any way that a copy of this kit can be had at this late date?

Cheers!
Jim

Uscgc taney

I'm interested in your build of the Taney. I happen to live in Taney County, Missouri, which was named for Roger B. Taney, as was the ship. Where can I obtain a copy of the kit, or is it a conversion that you're doing?

This particular version is mostly just a colourized version of the original, which was just printed on grey paper. I did have to reconstruct some parts, as the ink had faded on the original.

I wasn't aware of Taney County. Was Secretary Taney also from around there?
