Well, you have done it, Wilfried! After admiring your beautiful builds here I just ordered several Passat models from Moduni.com. My wife and my therapist were not amused...

Thats ok Ron, they don't know how much fun it is! Wilfried- your flying P-line ships are incredible. My German language skills are not great, what scale are they in? They are all waterline? Very nice, the mighty Preussan the grandest of them all, probably of all time for a pure ship of sail, although the Potosi could be built also from the Preussan I would think?

Nice work. Looks like you are near completion. And, I must add, you take nice clear images. Your camera is working quite well.

Hello to you all,

thank you for your kind words; all the card models from Passat Verlag are waterline and scaled 1:250.

All the P-Liners are very impressive; our first model was the PASSAT; unfortunately out of stock; the original is now in Lübeck-Travemünde, near the Baltic sea.
The PREUSSEN is a 5 mast full rigged ship; if you like to build the POTOSI, this one is a 5 mast bark, you have to do a lot of conversion...
For the PREUSSEN itself we offer etching parts to make detailing easier...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

PS: you'll find a progress report of the PREUSSEN here:

Hello Mike,

thank you; I often see good models in a very sad presentation. My opinion is, if I put hours and hours into a model, why save time to make good pics?
You're right; I'm near completion - at the moment I fight with the cranes; they're very unique and explaining pics are very rare ...

with lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Wow!, You are just cranking this one out Wilfried, that's a lot of work in such a short time and it is looking most excellent.

Ah yes, lovely brass, it makes some things come to life on a model that would take an incredibly sharp knife and years of patient work practice for average modelers to come up with. For below average like me, it is almost a necessity.

Hello to you all,

very similar to this ship are motor boats - used for traffic. I used the ones from the BISMARCK, scaled them up to 122 %. The window frames of the boats are printed on overhead foil. The main mast and the after mast is made from brasswork .. the anti-aircraft guns are made from etched parts on a card stock base. The big searchlight is filled inside with metal foil and covered with a round of printed overhead foil ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried
