San Salvador Galleon

My first post, after enjoying so much from this site. This model is a freebie from the San Diego Maritime Musuem I think, been a long time since I downloaded. Took about 3 months to finally get together. Tedious parts, and technically not all paper, lots of string in it as well.

I have heard of this one.
Very nice work.
I didn't realize it till I looked at the web site (San Diego Maritime Museum), but they are building a full scale replica of this ship. Very impressive.

I also built this one, The rigging was excessive and there was no standard rigging process of the lines with the exception of the standing rigging. I had to do extensive google search to get a feasible rigging.. I also increased/re-scale the ship to about 1-48th scale which made it easier to make the blocks and deadeyes. Your build came out remarkably well. Thanks for sharing and hope to see your next build. By the way, welcome to the forum.

Very nice results that seem worth the effort. I particularly like the treatment of the sails.
Nice build!

I have downloaded it also and put it on my (growing) to do list. I have never seen it built as designed and it encourages me to give it a try.

San Salvador 16th Century Galleon

Very well done, Craig,

Such fine detailing and overall precision. I like the slightly crumbled off-white linen-like sails very much! Great work!

Very nice model photography, too - interesting angles. I took the liberty of saving them for my future build of this superb FREE download model.

All the best
from Stockholm, Sweden,
Bengt

Welcome to the forum. Excellent first post. I have yet to do a 'long-term' project like this. It came out well
