The A-series are based on doubling the surface of the paper, so going from A-4 to A-3 will lead to the lineair size increase of the square root of 2, so blowing up your model will make it 1.4142 larger, that's approximately 141%. Going from A-4 to A-2 will make twice as big.

yup fat albert ended up with a length of 36 inches and a wingspan of 45 inches.now i just need a bigger shed so i can give the coastguard and israeli hers the same treatment

But only because of the essential condition that the the aspect ratio (ratio of length to width) of the sheet is retained whilst doubling the surface area.

Yes, db-sa, the ratio between the long side and the short side is in the A-series always the square root of 2, so two A-4's put alongside their long sides will give an A-3 with sides showing the same aspect ration, sq root 2, thereby doubling the surface.
