Hermione - Scale ... 1:1

Hi modelers !

Just to inform you that the 1:1 replica of the "Hermione", the french fregate on which the general Lafayette joined Georges Washington during the indepence war for the United States of America, left the harbour of Rochefort sur Mer after ... after a building of 20 years (!) ... for two months of sea trials.

She should join the United States of America in 2015. With stops at Norfolk, Philadelphia, New-York and Boston.

Thanks for the link to this excellent website. I did not know about this.
There are many good images of the ship and the construction.
The ship looks beautiful with its blue trim. And the website does a good job of telling the story of Lafayette.
