Askold - JSC kit no. 7, 12-2006
Couldn't help it. Had to have another one going. This one has been in the works for a while now so figured it's time to post.
This is as named the 1:400 Askold. It's a standard layout and format for JSC. In fact, for me it's the first one that I ran across that had a print problem. I had to cut and modify the forward superstructure bulkhead. If you notice the forward part of it, there are two doors that should be centered. Based on the location of where some bends needed to be and for it to fit the layout, these doors are now off-center. No biggie really. I do like the JSC kits. This one is coming along good. No other real problems. I also added fake ladder railing. I figured at this scale, just some simple strips of paper, with angled cuts on both ends would give a decent look. To my eye, they turned out pretty well.

Beautiful ship! Excellent beginning!
With all those funnels, is this the one that the Royal Navy types called the "Packet of Woodbines"? Don |

I made this model. Well all of the main parts anyhow. It is a great kit. I have a thread of my build elsewhere on paper modelers. I don't recall any problems with this model. I am looking forward to the rest of your build.

Hi Greg,
a very nice beginning. The railings at the ladders look very good, a simple and clever idea. Best Regards Dieter |

Interestingly ship, I love this era.
The coloring is interesting, graceful lines of the ship. Sincerely, Joe
