Looking really good there. One of these days I might develop the patience and endurance to do something like this. Until then I'm glad others post their builds. Thanks

Well tackled the first of the dreaded masts. The Mizzen mast as it is the tallest and consists of 8 pieces.
The main section is a straight tube done over a single gauge former. The top mast is tapered and used 2 different gauges of wire for the formers.
Since the former I used for the main was a hollow alum. tube and the wire former for the top of the taper fit into the tube. I used this configuration to support the mast while attaching the top mast to the main mast, to keep it true. As well as a support while attaching the other pieces of the mast. When complete these were removed.

When installing the mast, I used a machine square to true the mast to the ship.
Two more to build. At least they are shorter.

Straight and true Jim.
With the tubes and wire removed, it's pure paper mast.
Bravo.

Well tonight finished the 3rd and last Mast, and have glued it into place.

With the masts done, it's time to move on to the Aux. Craft.
