That model looks big. Is it? And did you get it on board?

The model looks good and it does look big. How many people wanted to snag it?

lets see.

she's coming in at 21 inches long, some 53-54cm.

Everybody wanted it. especially the kids. I had to explain that I designed it and printed it on a computer. (there is a design thread on this forum:
Carnival cruise ships ) That blew everybody's mind. I drank free the whole week

And if you want to meet people on a cruise, I highly suggest building a paper model of the ship at the bar

the cruise was 10 days round trip from new york to the eastern carribean. 3 days on the sea to get to the first port, and the first 2 days of that its not outdoor weather. that was fine with me though, hanging out and working a model is a perfect way to start a cruise for me. I worked the model typically during the bingo games from 10-12, and then in the afternoon from 2-6, on sea days. I had 2 sea days on the way back also. I had "fans" freaking out on whether or not I would get it done before we docked back in NY.

did four years on liners -cruise ships but never as a passenger.have you thought of approaching the company and marketing the model in their on board shops

I would love to do that. I don't know who to contact. Actually I'd prefer to get a comp cruise, work the model for a few hours a day, run a class or two a day on photoshop skills in the atrium (so folks can remove people from the background and such) or fix there pictures for a fee, maybe even run a computer class on simple 3-d design or print a simple model to be built on the ship.

aside from doing it onboard im sure the compay might have an interest in having a model availible in their onboard shops at some stage.might be worth you contacting there head office, just a thought.i know some of the british shipping companies had models of there ships made for them to sell.even better if you can sell it as a kit.
p.s. do i earn a copy to build for my idea??
