The hull has its basic plating done, and now it time for spackling and sanding. Then the side pieces can go on. The forward house still needs a few details.

Am curious to see how your experience with the hull works out.

The lower hull is basically finished now. Next will be painting and addition of the upper hull sides. The whales are cut and the upper row installed, the lower row go on later, after the upper sides are on. The boat deck is picking up its details, and a flag is made, Canadian, because she was chartered to a Canadian company during this period.

As a fan of lakes freighters, I am enjoying some of the "Scratch Build" features in the photos.
Like the notes" Mess Room, Galley, Pantry, etc.

Yes, the deck plan identifies all of the cabins by their use or occupant.

The hull is finished, and there are some issues at the stern, but I will live with them. Now the sides need to go on , and the boat deck is mostly ready. Small wire parts have been painted.

Starting to look like a real ship Fred. Still in pieces but coming together nicely.

Yes, finally. It is hard to get excited looking at pieces! Tomorrow should see a complete hull.

Hi Fred,

Great looking project you have going on here. Coming in late to the show gives one a lot of eye candy to enjoy right off the top as it were. Looking forward to your next installment.
