Project 1135, frigate Kriwak I class, Oriel, 1:250
Hallo,
Today I'll start a report of my version of the Krival I class frigate named "Dejatielnyj". The scale was modified to 1:250 (kit is 1:200) and several adaptions were made I'll describe in the course of the thread. Waterline model is my preferred choice - so the first task is to identify the waterline marker line in the formers of the hull. The formers were made of Bristolpaper (0.5 mm). The former assembly is straight forward and I added several home made formers (cardboard 1mm) to reenforce the structure (as I always do). Hallo,
the next step is to add the deck at the stern part of the hull. This deck was reenforced with 0.2mm Bristolpaper to achive a better stability for the superstructure parts integration. I've changed the colour/color from grey to green to be in line with my first project 956 and 1234. Prior to add the main deck the superstructure on the stern has to be installed. There is a mistake in the design of the formers - thus a correction was made and additional formers were designed to support the superstructure. Details of the structure were installed prior to integration to the hull. The main deck was also recoloured and reenforced with the above mentioned Bristolpaper - excluding the ceiling part of the stern superstructure section. Regards Klaus |

Hallo,
@Dieter : yes the hull is very, very stable - and will slightly increase the gross weight (hm) @Kevin & Don : thanx, this part is easy but it takes longer when adding additional parts. Today the hull will be finalized. The shell plates (four off, each side) were modified - I've combined the two plates of the stern into one plate. Modellers claim that the last plate is too short - I can't confirm this fault. The scuttles were cutted out and a copy of the bulls-eye was glued on the rear side of the plate. The last slide shows the hull together with project 956. Regards Klaus Last edited by RelloemSualk; 10-26-2015 at 12:20 PM. Reason: typo corrections - typing too fast for that keyboard |

Hallo,
Today I'll give a brief overview about the guns. Two AK726 (twin barrel) must be assembled and installed on the stern. I didn't take any slides (to show individual steps) during the assembly because I was not sure if I would come to an acceptable result. Additional supports and reenforcements were helpful during the process and some details were added. The twin barrel is movable in elevation, the turret is turnable. Regards Klaus |

Hallo,
@Tim, thanx - it was hard work today I'll continue with the superstructure of the VDS located on the stern. The structure is composed of two sections, both having a skeleton as support. Two hinges were added to the VDS stern door. Several structural attachments were available to complete the structure and I could not resist to add handrails. Regards Klaus |
