Found it! It is segmented into 8 compartments, 4 per side. So we could take 8 RPVs if we wanted. Generally one or two was filled with parts and support equipment.

We emptied one out for use when we crossed the equator. Any idea how badly sour cream smells when it's been baking inside a container for three or four days in the hot Indian Ocean sun? Found out later it'd been expired for 4 months, they saved it for a "special occasion" hoping we'd cross the line. That was 24 years ago, but if I think about it long enough I can remember the oduer de creme.

On the helo service shack, did they give you another small radome to go on the starbr'd side roof? That would be the antenna for the PCS.

Another thing if you want to get really detailed. The portside gun tub on the fantail had a grating over the top of it. Underneath we had our fuel bladder for the avgas. Some of the shoes (black shoes that is) were upset with the modification because they couldn't smoke on the fantail after it was installed. I'm not sure if I ever took a picture back there. Maybe I have one from when we were rigging the net or something.

OK this will be my last update for a while. The main build is done. I only built one of the Pioneer UAV's because, well, the parts were just too dang small.

Is it perfect? no. Is it completely detailed? no Rigging? only for the net. Rails? no, none provided, no patterns, dislike laser cut rails and photoetch are cost prohibitive.

My wife is tasked with prepping the mounting base with gesso to get that water like texture, then I can finish from there. Who knows, I might be inspired then to complete the rigging and build the other UAV.

Nice work! Pioneer looks so cute with her Pax River embellishments on the paint job.
(Pax River birds are/were notorious for red paint on the nose and tail) One could always tell a Pax River bird from a fleet aircraft at distance.
