190=foot River Towboat
This is a quick thread that shows development and construction of a 190-foot Dravo river towboat, circa 1975. As this is one of the largest river towboats ever built for the Mississippi River system, I named it after myself, giving it a homeport of my hometown.

Here is the original drawing on the computer screen, along with a couple of views of the pieces I created in Adobe Illustrator.

Initial construction, followed by 2 views of the yard inspector doing his thing - the sniff test. The model is in HO (1/87) scale, so measures out to almost 26-1/2 inches.

This was the status, as of Feb. of last year. It's been sitting, gathering dust, but I'm back on finishing it, as well as doing some extra detailing.

Having grown up next to the Mississippi near St. Louis, I have seen a puppies like this. I know a few HO gauge model builders that might be interested in adding one to their layout.

Since the files were created in late 2013 and early 2014, turning it into a kit wouldn't take a lot of effort. I also have an N scale version.

Thanks, Don! I'll pass that on. He's a 7-year old Maine Coon, given to me by a good friend who was a Maine Coon breeder.
